Hello! I'm Sophie, a First-Class Earth Sciences graduate from the University of Oxford and currently a PhD researcher at Imperial College London. I achieved A*s in Maths and Chemistry and an A in Geography at A-Level, and now tutor all three subjects at GCSE and A-Level. I particularly enjoy helping students develop a strong understanding of the principles behind each subject, whether working through challenging mathematical problems, mastering the foundations of Chemistry, or developing the knowledge and analytical skills needed for Geography.
I have also advised applicants to Oxford Earth Sciences and other Geology degrees, supporting students with personal statements and interview preparation. I understand the demands of these highly competitive applications and enjoy helping students approach them with confidence. In every session, I aim to make challenging material accessible while encouraging students to think independently and tackle unfamiliar problems for themselves.

Hi! I'm Chris, a qualified History teacher with a genuine passion for History and Politics and for helping students become confident, independent thinkers. I studied History at Lancaster University before training as a teacher, and since 2022 I've taught History from KS3 through to A-Level, alongside A-Level Politics, in schools across London and internationally.
My years of teaching experience have given me a broad understanding of different curricula, with extensive familiarity across various History GCSE and iGCSE exam boards. I have consistently helped students outperform their predicted grades, developing a deep understanding of the subject knowledge, analytical skills and essay-writing techniques that examinations demand. As Head of Politics, I also took responsibility for developing the A-Level curriculum and supporting Sixth-Form students with their academic writing and university applications.
What I enjoy most about teaching is getting students deeply engaged with what they are learning. I love a good historical argument, and encourage students to question interpretations, make connections and develop ideas of their own. I also make sure they know how to turn that knowledge into strong exam answers: understanding what examiners are looking for, tackling unfamiliar questions with confidence and making their arguments with precision.
